Daily Grace Inspirations | Joseph Prince  A Brighter Place for Us All Yael Eckstein   |  July 23, 2024 Now come and put a curse on these people, because they are too powerful for me. Perhaps then I will be able to defeat them and drive them out of the land. For I know that whoever you bless is blessed, and whoever you curse is cursed . — Numbers 22:6 Each week in synagogue, Jews read through the  Torah  from Genesis to Deuteronomy. The  Torah  portion for this week is a  Balak,  named after the king of the Moabites, from Numbers 22:2-25:9. In Judaism, we begin every  Sabbath  and Festival meal with the  kiddush ,  saying a blessing over a cup of wine. We hold the cup and raise it up while we make the blessing. One of the meanings behind this symbolic act is that we raise up that which has been pushed down. We elevate that which has been oppressed. This very simple act is also symbolic of the different ways that we can approach life. In life, there are two ways to get ahead—either by ra

Psalm 105:37 Do you know what happened when the children of Israel ate the Passover lamb on the very first Passover night? That very night, God liberated the Israelites from severe oppression and freed them from the captivity of the Egyptians. But that wasn’t all. The Bible also says there was  none feeble  among the six hundred thousand men who left Egypt on the night of the exodus (Ex. 12:37). But when you include the women and children, scholars estimate about two to three million Israelites were freed that night. Out of these, none—not a single one—came out feeble! Think about the backbreaking work the Israelites were forced to do and the beatings and whippings they suffered under their slave masters (Ex. 1:13–14 AMP

The Bible Project - Acts Ch. 21-28, Live   Wisdom  Psalm 87:1–7 Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm. A song. 1  He has founded his city on the holy mountain. 2  The LORD loves the gates of Zion    more than all the other dwellings of Jacob. 3  Glorious things are said of you,    city of God: 4  “I will record Rahab and Babylon    among those who acknowledge me—   Philistia too, and Tyre , along with Cush—    and will say, ‘This one was born in Zion.’” 5  Indeed, of Zion it will be said,    “This one and that one were born in her,    and the Most High himself will establish her.” 6  The LORD will write in the register of the peoples:    “This one was born in Zion.” 7  As they make music they will sing,    “All my fountains are in you.” Commentary New song This is a psalm of praise. It is hard to understand and has been described as one of the most problematic in the whole Psalter. It is written in the language of poetry. The psalmist concludes by anticipating the future: ‘As they make music t

Creflo Dollar, Wednesday Sermon - Grace Teaches Us to Deny Worldly Lust Pt  Get Ready to Play Offense He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 Whatever team sports you follow, you know that defense is vital. A good defensive strategy keeps you in contention, but defense alone doesn’t win championships. The prayer of protection in Psalm 91 has many defensive elements, such as dwelling in the secret place of the Most High, abiding under the shadow of the Almighty, and taking the Lord as our refuge and fortress. We can also see how we are covered under His wings and protected by an angelic army. Knowing that we’ve got our defensive game covered, are you ready to play some offense? Certainly, there are times and seasons when the best thing to do is to take cover and to allow ourselves to be sheltered. The Lord is our safe house, our hiding place, and our impenetrable fortress, and I love that we get to take refuge in Him. But the prayer of protection also declare
