March 28: Whom do you trust?

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;"
Proverbs 3:5

Because my dad walked out of my life and committed suicide, the emotional scars caused me to fear that everyone would sooner or later walk out on me.
So many of the things that cause us the most difficulty and heartache in life, the source of so much of our anxiety, fear, doubt, and anger with others and with God, is the result of leaning on our own understanding. God does not want us to be miserable. He wants us to rest in His peace that goes beyond all understanding.
By faith, we put our trust in God and allow Him to direct our paths.
When God is in charge our path not only leads to ultimate joy—He also makes the journey itself, even when laden with sorrow, a joyful one. God will never walk out on you. Trust God in every area of your life and lean not to your understanding. You will never go wrong.
“True trust comes when fear is dismissed.”
