March 31: Living Water

"Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again."
John 4:13
This woman had been married five times, and the man she was now living with was not her husband. One of the symptoms of low self-esteem is bouncing from relationship to relationship. If this is true, this woman must have been running on empty.
When Jesus approached her, He told her to drink of Him first, and He would satisfy her longing. He was telling her that He could do for her what five husbands had not been able to do – truly satisfy her! If you put God first and go to Him for what you want most, then and only then will you experience wholeness. I know that from firsthand experience.
It amazes me that someone can meet Christ and still live the same as before. Something should happen when you encounter Jesus.
The question remains, what well are you drinking from – the well of living water or the well of mediocrity?
God is waiting for you to confront what He has already confronted. Is there anything still lingering around your house that needs to be changed? Choose this day whom you will serve. Serve the living God.
“You can lead a horse to water; and if he doesn’t drink, he dies.”
