April 24: Completed In Christ

"Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6
God has transformed your life and produced the work of regeneration. You can be confident that if God initiated your salvation, He will continue this work to its completion with Him for eternity. The apostle Paul was expressing his gratitude for their partnership in the gospel. They had generously given to Paul’s ministry, and they were reaping spiritual growth from it.
Paul exhorted them for their fellowship in the gospel. The Greek word for fellowship is “koinonia” that specifically expresses a two-sided relationship. Here the reference is to a recent gift. Ten years later, the Philippian church still had a thriving relationship with Paul, and it continued at Thessalonica (Philippians 4:16), at Corinth (2 Corinthians 11:9), and the most recent one brought by Epaphroditus (Philippians 4:18). This is what I call a covenant connector.
The church had learned the laws of sowing and reaping. They saw that God had continued to bless them, as they continued to share in the gospel with Paul by their support.
When it comes to our salvation, God will complete what He has started, and the same is true with giving.
As you share your gifts, God completes what is lacking in your life. God takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servants. As you share your gifts in the gospel, increase is coming.
“Ultimate security is fellowship with God.”
