April 25: By His Stripes

"Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed."
1 Peter 2:24
After Jesus was arrested, held prisoner, and presented before Caiaphas and the religious leaders; He was presented to Pilate and Herod. They cross-examined and accused Jesus, but in the end, they found no cause for capital punishment.
Have you ever been falsely or deceitfully accused, or been misunderstood and never been given the chance to explain?
Righteous living does not guarantee there will be no opposition; in fact, it actually increases the likelihood that you will be persecuted.
To appease the angry Jewish elders, Pilate ordered that Jesus be scourged at a Roman whipping post. The suffering servant received thirty-nine stripes lashed upon His back and sides. He took this bloody beating for your depression, your anxiety, your bulimia; and every disease known and unknown!
The good news is that by this one act of love, you were—not are—healed. Healing is more than a promise; it is a fact. Once Jesus’ blood was shed, every disease was enlisted to His cure. Healing is done by faith. The process begins today.
“His blood is for you!”
