April 29: All Alone

"Then Jacob was left alone; and a Man wrestled with him until the breaking of day."
Genesis 32:24
Jacob had lived a perpetual lifestyle of deception. He tricked his father; his brother, his father-in-law, and most of all, himself. Time was running out and he knew it. Sooner or later, one of his opposers was sure to track him down and take his life.
Word came to Jacob that his brother Esau was on his way to meet with him. Out of fear, Jacob divided his family into two units. He thought if one was found and killed, the other would remain unharmed. But Esau pursued Jacob; and when it looked like all hope was gone, Jacob sent his family away, and he was alone.
Have you ever been in a situation, where you feel as though issues and problems in life are chasing you down?
You get so desperate that unless God comes through you will give up on life. Jacob was alone, but not for long. God showed up as an angel and wrestled with him all night. When you have come to the end of yourself, you’ll find God.
“God will show up once you get alone.”
