June 30: Hear My Cry

"And may You hear the supplication of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear in heaven Your dwelling place; and when You hear, forgive."
1 Kings 8:30
The first thing the doctors do when a baby is born is to make sure it is breathing. The baby’s cry is the evidence of life. For several months, that cry will be the baby’s way of communicating with its parents when afraid or in need.
Many times, God’s children cry out to the Lord in despair for their need. King Solomon asked God to hear the supplication of the people and to forgive them when they had transgressed. Forgiveness is God’s specialty. He is a loving, gracious, and longsuffering God that wants you to come to Him just as you are.
You can be sure that God not only hears you when you ask according to His Word and His will you will have what you have asked for (1 John 5:14).
Take a moment today and turn your voice and heart toward God. Call out to Him, for He will hear your cry.
