October 29: Not Void

"For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it."

Isaiah 55:10-11

Isaiah draws a parallel between precipitation, which helps the earth flourish, and God’s Word, which helps accomplish His great purposes in the earth. Have you ever read these two verses and wondered, “How does God’s Word return to Him?”

Many young adults at one time or another have determined that they are never going to be like their parents, but a few years later they catch themselves saying the same thing that their parents would have said in that situation.

God’s children say and believe His promises.

So, how does God’s Word return back to Him? The words spoken in faith cause the promises to manifest and accomplish God’s purpose. Read His Word. Capture the promises of God in your heart. Speak them out in faith, and God will hasten to perform them.

“It’s raining with an outpouring of the Word."
