May 27: Prophesy

“Then Moses said to him, “Are you zealous for my sake? Oh, that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them!"

Numbers 11:29

The Spirit of the Lord fell upon the seventy elders that were with Moses on the mountain of the Lord who began to prophesy. This miraculous act was a privilege and given to the seventy as a sign, proving that the Lord’s arm was not too short and that what God said would come to pass would be fulfilled.

Two elders, Eldad and Medad, chose to remain at the camp. They did not attend the worship meeting on the mount. Yet the Spirit of the Lord rested upon them and enabled them to prophesy like the seventy. Joshua found their absence offensive and illegal.

Moses’ rebuttal to Joshua’s request to make them stop, was that he wished that all the Lord’s people were prophets and that the Lord would put His Spirit upon them all. This was God’s original design to speak with all of His people (Exodus 20), but they refused.

You are created to hear from God and to prophesy.

That is to declare the wondrous works of God for your life by declaring aloud in agreement with His Word. One of the ways to prophesy is to declare things to come to you as you walk out your destiny. Continue to declare what you have heard and what you believe God wants to do in your life.

“Talking with God is all-inclusive."
