December 8: Chosen for Good

And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus."

Luke 1:31

Gabriel told Mary that she was going to conceive and give birth to a son— not just any son but Jesus, the Son of God. This was her role, her purpose, and her destiny. It was far from anything she could have imagined, but God had chosen her among all women.

Can you see God’s purpose? No, not always.

It was a simple role in the natural, but not an expected role. Mary had a pure heart and was living a normal life until she received this prophetic Word. It was not convenient and not good timing from her standpoint, but it was perfect timing from God’s perspective. Has God ever bothered you? Have you ever been inconvenienced? The plan for your life may come as a surprise, a struggle, or simply strange. God’s plan for you is significant and special. Open your heart to Him today to hear what He is planning for you.

"He has chosen you. He has plans for you; you have not chosen Him."
