Bringing Joy to the Righteous | International Fellowship of Christians and Jews: Bringing Joy to the Righteous Yael Eckstein  |  February 18, 2022 When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous     but terror to evildoers. — Proverbs 21:15 We continue with devotional thoughts from the Book of Proverbs every Friday. One of the 11 books in the Torah known as the Ketuvim, Hebrew for “writings,” Proverbs is part of the “wisdom tradition,” which also includes Job and Ecclesiastes. One of the constant struggles that Israel faces is the struggle for truth. The enemies of Israel spread lies and accusations about us that are the opposite of the truth. For example, whenever Israel retaliates against rocket attacks from terrorists in Gaza, our enemies accuse us of targeting civilians. The truth is that the terrorist attacks on us target our civilian population, and the Israeli army goes out of its way to avoid civilian casualties on the other side. As someone born and raised in the United States, it was very painful when, in May of 2021, Israel was under attack and many prominent voices in the U.S. Congress and media were blaming Israel for the attacks. But there is a difference now when these lies and attacks that demonize the Jewish people are launched. Toda
