April 21: The Day the Lord Has Made

“This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

Psalm 11:24

The book of Genesis is the book of new beginnings. It outlines the majesty of how God created the heavens and the earth and everything in it. Moses finished writing Genesis, but God isn’t done creating. Every time the sun rises, a new day dawns. It’s a new day of mercy and hope. A new day to experience the goodness of God in the land of the living.

The reason many Christians do not see today as a new day is because they have not rejoiced. When someone says, “Have a good day,” they respond with, “What’s good about it?” These types of people can never see anything good. As a result, they missed the blessings of God for their life.

Start your day with praise. Thank God for the day and what He is going to do in it. Thank Him that He is working all things out for your good. Thank Him that He will supply every need. Thank Him that you are blessed in the city and blessed in the field. Thank Him that you are the head and not the tail. Thank Him that you hear His voice and follow in His footsteps. Thank Him for another day to declare His glory on the earth!

It’s a choice to rejoice!
