“We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."

2 Corinthians 10:5

I want to give you some insight into the unseen battle that is constantly going on. You may have heard it said before our battlefield is in our minds. It’s true. That’s why Paul is adamant that we take captive every thought.

Contrary to popular opinion, the enemy cannot read your mind. The only One who knows our thoughts is God. His angels don’t know our thoughts either. The Great I AM is the only God who is all-knowing.

Nevertheless, the enemy and his cousins are professionals. They have been studying your family line and know what to whisper in your ear to get you to believe their lies. Don’t be deceived. The enemy does plant thoughts into your head.

Guess what? You don’t have to accept every thought that comes through your head as having originated with you! Don’t agree with every thought that runs through your mind! Take it captive! Does it line up with the definition of love as listed in 1 Corinthians 13? If not, probably the enemy! Does it line up with what we should think about in Philippians 4? If not, probably the enemy! Ask the Lord to help you take your thoughts captive today!

If your thoughts do not align with the love of God, reject them.
