September 29: Don't Settle For Less

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right; you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance...and cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.”

Numbers 27:6,7

Israel took a second census after 24,000 died by a plague because of their rebellion. Israel was to count all males who were 20 years and older in each tribe. The size of the tribes would determine the portion size of land needed to provide adequate space for them to settle when they entered Canaan.

The five daughters of Zelophehad came to Moses, the elders, and before the congregation of Israel to appeal their case of injustice that they were being denied the inheritance of their father. Their father had died in the desert, not through a rebellion of the company of Korah, but of natural causes. He died before he could have a son.

They came to claim what they felt was theirs. Don’t settle for less than what has been promised to you. Moses took their complaint to the Lord, and God moved on their behalf, and they received what was coming to them. Don’t give up if you have not received what has been promised to you. God is not holding out on you. Something or someone is standing in the way of your miracle. What are you claiming today?

No devil in hell can stop what God has intended for you.
