July 11: Seed Living

"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."

Psalm 37:25

King David declared that he never saw the righteous forsaken. If you are born again, you are the righteous seed of God. You cannot earn the righteousness of God. It is a gift. Your righteousness makes you a child of God and a child of Abraham.

Abraham is the father of faith. He tithed to Melchizedek from the booty of war. Melchizedek was what is called a Christophany -- a manifestation of the pre-incarnate Christ. It was Jesus who appeared in human form, as the King of Salem, the King of Peace. Abraham did not tithe because the law commanded him to do it. The law did not exist yet. Abraham did it out of obligation because he recognized that he was in the presence of a king, and he wanted to remain in peace with the King of Salem which later became known as Jerusalem.

When you tithe, you are saying, “I want to remain in covenant with the King of Jerusalem”. Ten percent of what I gain in the battle of life, I give to God because of who He is. Because you are in covenant with God, what He has is yours, and what you have is His. That means regardless of the trials and tribulations we all face in life, God possesses the cattle on a thousand hillsides and He will see you through it all. God is more than enough!

God will pour out His blessing on His seed.
