Daily Devotional (December-05-2023) BECOMING A FAITHFUL 

December 5: Your Stronghold

"The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him."

Nahum 1:7

The Prophet Nahum had been declaring the fierceness of God's anger, wrath and fury that He would pour out on the city of Nineveh if the people refused to repent and turn from their vile ways. In the midst of speaking judgment, anger and doom, this verse provides us all a ray of hope.

Our problems don’t catch God off guard. Jesus warned us that problems would come. “In the world you will have tribulation” (John 16:33). Not only does God not expect you to go through it alone, He expects you to run to Him for help. Remember God’s goodness and place your trust in Him. He is the stronghold you can cling to in the storm.

He calms every storm.
