January 12: Honor Him

"And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."

Deuteronomy 8:18

God loves you. He is for you. It’s not His desire or grandiose plan that you live in hardship or struggle financially. God gives us the power to get wealth.

According to Strong’s Hebrew and Chaldee Dictionary of the Old Testament, wealth is so much more than merely money. It is translatedfromtheHebrewword,ַחִיל Chayil,meaning“aforce, whether of men, means or other resources; an army, wealth, virtue, valor, strength:—able, activity.”

When you remember the Lord your God and honor Him, He will make you to be “a force.” In other words, God will give you the wisdom and strategies you need to be an influence for His kingdom on the earth and to overcome the enemy. Remember, you already have God’s protection.

As you hear and obey God’s voice, He will put you in position to be a force, a strength, and an example of virtue in this dark world. God honors those who honor Him.
