In our fast-paced, self-reliant culture, it’s easy to get caught up in the belief that we can do it all on our own. We strive, we plan, we work tirelessly. But the truth that Jesus lays out in John 15:5 is clear: without Him, our efforts are ultimately fruitless. He is the vine, the source of life and nourishment, and we are the branches, meant to bear fruit through our connection to Him. It’s not our inability to succeed without God; it’s about the limitless possibilities that open up when we stay connected to Him. When we are rooted in Christ, drawing our strength, wisdom, and sustenance from Him, we flourish. We bear fruit not just in the form of success or achievements, but in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. So, how do we remain in Him? We read His Word. We seek out His presence. We align our hearts with His, seeking His will in our decisions, and relying on His strength in our weaknesses. Remember, apart from God, we can do nothing. But in Him, we can do all things. He empowers us, guides us, and works through us to achieve incredible things. |
