RECALCULATING, RECALCULATING
READING: DAILY
Proverbs 3:1-8
Exhortation to obedience.
1;My son, do not forget my law,
And let your heart keep my commandments;
2;For length of days and long life
And peace will increase for you.
3;Let loving-kindness and truth never depart from you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart;
4;And you will find favor and good opinion
In the eyes of God and man.
5;Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6;In all your ways acknowledge him,
And he will direct your paths.
7;Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord, and depart from evil;
8;For he will be health to your flesh,
And refreshment to your bones.
Proverbs 3:6
In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Leviticus 26-27
Mark 2
Don't worry. I know exactly “where I'm going,” I announced to my passengers. Then an almost human voice gave me the runaround: “Recalculating… recalculating.” Now I was lost!
Today millions of drivers recognize these words or similar ones that indicate they went off the road or didn't turn right. GPS not only when a driver takes the wrong turn, but also immediately begins to plot a new route to get us back on track.
Sometimes, followers of Christ need help reorienting their spirituality. We may intentionally wander off the path because we think we know a better one, or we drift slowly, not realizing that we are getting further and further away from the path God wants us to walk.
However, God has not left us alone. He has given all believers the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17; 1 Corinthians 3:16), which convicts us of our sin (John 16:8). When we stray from the right path, He sounds the alarm and awakens our conscience (Galatians 5:16-25). We can ignore the warning, but it will harm us (Isaiah 63:10; Galatians 6:16-25). How comforting it is to know that God works in our lives through the conviction of the Holy Spirit! (Romans 8:26-With the help and guidance of the Lord, we can continue on the path that pleases Him.
We always have help because the HOLY Spirit dwells in us.
