Holy Land Moments | International Fellowship of Christians and Jews

Holy Land Moments | International Fellowship of Christians and  ften think about a letter that my grandfather, Rabbi Simon Eckstein, wrote to my father, expressing his joy that my father, his son, had carried on his teachings and legacy: “You were reared in a rabbi’s home, where, thank G-d, you were able to absorb Jewish traditional values about all aspects of life. In our frequent discussions, we always gave priority to the need to perform deeds of chesed — acts of charity, kindness, and thoughtfulness. “Fondly, we remember how we sat around the dinner table on Shabbat and sang our favorite songs — songs that your mother and I learned from our parents. Even as children, your brother and sisters would help us as we distributed food to the needy during the High Holy Days and Passover.” The Greatest Joy Our verses from Proverbs teach us that “The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave y

So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food." 2 Kings 4:8 A certain woman of great wealth and worth saw Elisha traveling by one day. She invited him to eat bread for his substance, and then whenever he came through her town again, he visited her. This is what I call walking in rhythm or in the timing of God. She was right there at the right time for the prophet. This Shunammite woman was operating in the perception of God’s providence and did not evaluate her decision by life circumstances. She gave to the man of God generously, as a seed for her future; she wanted a child. The prophet gave her a word, and she conceived (2 Kings 4:17).

We Are the Enemy of Evil | International Fellowship of Christians and Jews : We Are the Enemy of Evil Yael Eckstein  |  April 28, 2022 “You must not do as they do in Egypt, where you used to live, and you must not do as they do in the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you. Do not follow their practices.” —Leviticus 18:3 Each week in synagogue, Jews read through the Torah from Genesis to Deuteronomy. The Torah portion for this week is Acharei Mot, which means “after the death,” from Leviticus 16:1—18:30. A Christian friend of mine recently asked me a question that I wasn’t sure how to answer. I had just finished speaking to a group of people about the work of The Fellowship. I spoke about the Holocaust survivors who we take care of, the bomb shelters that we build in Israeli border towns, and how we continue to respond to the enemies of Israel who disparage us with lies. After I finished my talk, my friend came up to me and asked, “What’s it like going through life knowing that t

You may have heard it said before our battlefield is in our minds. It’s true. That’s why Paul is adamant that we take captive every thought. Contrary to popular opinion, the enemy cannot read your mind. The only One who knows our thoughts is God. His angels don’t know our thoughts either. The Great I AM is the only God who is all-knowing. Nevertheless, the enemy and his cousins are professionals. They have been studying your family line and know what to whisper in your ear to get you to believe their lies. Don’t be deceived. The enemy does plant thoughts into your head. Guess what? You don’t have to accept every thought that comes through

Todd White (September-15-2019) Christians Who Think Evangelism Isn't Their Gift Paula Today: Women of the Bible Pt1 Dorcas Share Give Download We are exploring 3 women in the Bible: Dorcas, Hannah and Ruth. Acts 9:36-41, “In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room…. When the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!” Peter went with them… then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he presented her to them alive.”

Robert Morris - Watch Sermon: You Need these TWO THINGS to Live Beyond  I Hear His Whisper... Fear is not your friend.   Fear is not your friend, so stop agreeing with it. Stop listening to every lie the enemy throws at you, as if you don’t have the power to resist it. Decline the invitation to cower in fear, while rehearsing the outcome he has envisioned for you. Declare my truth. Take up your shield of faith. It will quench the fiery darts of hell. Stand and be courageous. You are powerful, filled with the same Spirit that raised my Son from the grave. Trust the power of my love within you. Dig your faith into the heart of fear and tear it away from your soul. Thrust it before my presence and trust me to be who I say I am. Fear and trust cannot coexist. You do not have to figure this out. Don’t allow the enemy to trick you into thinking that obsessing over this will change it. It will not. Simply release this into my hands and close the door to fear. I am here with you. Release the f

God Has Called us to Purity - Todd White

Daily Devotional (April-22-2022) An open door

Daily Devotional (April-22-2022) An open door: Daily Devotional (April-22-2022) An open door Scripture Reference: Revelations 3:8 - I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Many times in life we need someone to open doors for us. It can be an uncle giving you a job, or a friend recommending you for a position. It could be a system, like the education system in Norway, where education is free for everyone. It is a door open for all who wants. But if you get that position or take that education, you still have to work hard to prove you are the right person for the position or to study for those exams. Still, even if that is true, many people in many places in the world envy us for having these opportunities. Because that is what the open door is. It is an opportunity. It only speaks of possibilities. God has set an open door for us. It is an opportunity. T

A psalm. 1  Hear this, all you peoples; listen, all who live in this world, 2  both low and high, rich and poor alike: 3  My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the meditation of my heart will give you understanding. 4  I will turn my ear to a proverb; with the harp I will expound my riddle: 5  Why should I fear when evil days come, when wicked deceivers surround me— 6  those who trust in their wealth and boast of their great riches? 7  No one can redeem the life of another or give to God a ransom for them— 8  the ransom for a life is costly, no payment is ever enough— 9  so that they should live on forever and not see decay. 10  For all can see that the wise die, that the foolish and the senseless also perish, leaving their wealth to others. 11  Their tombs will remain their houses forever, their dwellings for endless generations, though they had nam
