I Hear His Whisper..."I am your great provider. Proverbs 18:17-19:2 17  In a lawsuit the first to speak seems right,    until someone comes forward and cross-examines. 18  Casting the lot settles disputes    and keeps strong opponents apart. 19  A brother wronged is more unyielding than a fortified city;    disputes are like the barred gates of a citadel. 20  From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;    with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. 21  The tongue has the power of life and death,    and those who love it will eat its fruit. 22  He who finds a wife finds what is good    and receives favor from the Lord. 23  The poor plead for mercy,    but the rich answer harshly. 24  One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,    but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. 19  Better the poor whose walk is blameless    than a fool whose lips are perverse. 2  Desire without knowledge is not good—    how much more will hasty feet miss the way

Our compassionate Savior offers spiritual, physical, and emotional refuge for the hurting. Malachi 3:6 - For I, the LORD, do not change; therefore you, O sons of Jacob, are not consumed Yesterday, we learned that God’s character never changes—Jesus Christ always remains the same. What a comfort for believers! And the better we know Him, the easier it will be to turn to Him for refuge. So today, let’s learn more about His nature. Jesus ... • Forgave others.  He showed mercy, not judgment, to those who recognized their sin.  • Comforted the hurting.  He visited Mary and Martha, who were mourning the loss of their brother Lazarus (John 11:1-45).  • Provided for needs.  After spending three days healing, He was concerned that the large crowd hadn’t eaten. He could have sent all 4,000 away to find their own food, but He provided more than enough to satisfy their hun

Charles Stanley (July-26-2023) Daily Devotional: Two Types of  Charles Stanley (July-26-2023) Daily Devotional: Two Types of Listeners. Are you still hungry to hear from the Lord? Acts 17:10-12 - The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. Now these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. Therefore many of them believed, along with a number of prominent Greek women and men. It’s possible to “listen” to every word of a sermon while actually not hearing a word of it. Sadly, this happens in churches every week—bodies may be in the pew, but minds are somewhere else. In fact, practically every church around the world has two types of listeners: passive and active. Passive listeners are those who attend church—maybe even every week—but just sit in the pew and let their mind wa

Week 30| Everyday Study - Joyce Meyer Ministries : Scripture And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be [a]transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you]. - Romans 12:2 (AMP) A Healthy Mind Over the years, the Lord has shown me so much about the power of our thoughts. In fact, the two major lessons He has taught me are that our thoughts affect every single area of our lives and we have a choice—we can choose our thoughts! What you think about has everything to do with the quality of your life. But it’s not just good enough to stop thinking about the wrong things—we also need to replace them with good, healthy, positive thoughts from God’s Word. Spend time each day reading and meditating on

Charles Stanley (July-12-2023) Daily Devotional: The Bigger Picture

Charles Stanley (July-12-2023) Daily Devotional: The Bigger  Charles Stanley (July-12-2023) Daily Devotional: The Bigger Picture.  To avoid error and understand the truth of Scripture, we must read verses in context. Psalm 37:1-40 - Do not fret because of evildoers, Be not envious toward wrongdoers. For they will wither quickly like the grass And fade like the green herb. Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. When studying a Bible verse, it’s important to consider the surrounding scriptures. Without understanding the context, we might get the wrong idea. Psalm 37 is a great example. In verse 4, David writes that God “will give you the desires of your heart.” By itself, this phrase makes the Lord sound like a genie. The full verse, however, reveals that our desires are met when we delight ourselves in the Lord. What this means is, when we take pleasure in spending time with the Father—learning what pleases Him and praying for discernment—our heart

Charles Stanley (July-11-2023) Daily Devotional: God’s Healing  July 11: Seed Living "I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread." Psalm 37:25 King David declared that he never saw the righteous forsaken. If you are born again, you are the righteous seed of God. You cannot earn the righteousness of God. It is a gift. Your righteousness makes you a child of God and a child of Abraham. Abraham is the father of faith. He tithed to Melchizedek from the booty of war. Melchizedek was what is called a Christophany -- a manifestation of the pre-incarnate Christ. It was Jesus who appeared in human form, as the King of Salem, the King of Peace. Abraham did not tithe because the law commanded him to do it. The law did not exist yet. Abraham did it out of obligation because he recognized that he was in the presence of a king, and he wanted to remain in peace with the King of Salem which later became known as Jerusalem.

Day 188: The Dangers of Pride (Proverbs 16:18-27, Acts 25:23-26:23, 2 Kings 14:23-15:38) : Proverbs 16:18-27 18 Pride goes before destruction,    a haughty spirit before a fall. 19 Better to be lowly in spirit along with the oppressed    than to share plunder with the proud. 20 Whoever gives heed to instruction prospers,    and blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord. 21 The wise in heart are called discerning,    and gracious words promote instruction. 22 Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent,    but folly brings punishment to fools. 23 The hearts of the wise make their mouths prudent,    and their lips promote instruction. 24 Gracious words are a honeycomb,    sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. 25 There is a way that appears to be right,    but in the end it leads to death. 26 The appetite of laborers works for them;    their hunger drives them on. 27 A scoundrel plots evil,    and on their lips it is like a scorching fire. Rescue the weak and the needy;     deliver them from the hand of the wicked. — Psalm 82:3-4 This month, we will look at the theme of justice as one of the bedrock principles of our Judeo-Christian values. Enjoy! In a world of political upheaval and fake news, it can be hard to know who to trust; judges can be bribed, politicians can be corrupted, and justice seems impossible to grasp. Apparently, this isn’t new. Psalm 82 expresses outrage at the judges and officials who do not do their jobs with integrity, sacrificing the needs of the weakest members of society for their own personal power and political gain. The psalmist pleaded: “Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver t

Enjoy! In the spring of 2023, on April 7th, Lucy Dee (48) and her two daughters, Maia (20) and Rina (15), were gunned down by Palestinian terrorists on their way to a family vacation, leaving behind a devastated husband and father, Rabbi Leo Dee, and three surviving siblings. This horrific attack took place during the holiday of Passover, a time when the Jewish people celebrate their freedom. But on this day, there was only mourning and unanswered questions.  When tragedy strikes the innocent, we often wonder: Where was God? How could He let this happen? Even  King David  asked these difficult questions. Psalm 10 begins:  “Why, LORD, do you stand far off? Why d
