Joel Osteen (September-30-2022) Daily Devotional: Don’t Look Back

Joel Osteen (September-30-2022) Daily Devotional: Don’t Look  September 30: An Appropriate Offering “ Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the Lord. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the Lord respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.” Genesis 4:2-5 Abel watched over the sheep, and Cain farmed the land. Cain gave to God from what the land produced. Abel gave God the firstborn of his flock. God approved of Abel’s offering, and He rejected Cain’s. Cain became angry, and his countenance fell. His face began to reveal what was in his heart—disgust, disappointment, and anger that his labor had been for nothing. He may have felt like a failure or that doing it “his own way” was not enough. This must have intensified in the days, and weeks

September 29: Don't Settle For Less “ The Lord spoke to Moses, saying: “The daughters of Zelophehad speak what is right; you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance...and cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.” Numbers 27:6,7 Israel took a second census after 24,000 died by a plague because of their rebellion. Israel was to count all males who were 20 years and older in each tribe. The size of the tribes would determine the portion size of land needed to provide adequate space for them to settle when they entered Canaan. The five daughters of Zelophehad came to Moses, the elders, and before the congregation of Israel to

The Chat with Priscilla 50 Shades of Grace (Part 1)

The Chat with Priscilla 50 Shades of Grace (Part 1 September 28: It's Time “ Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Acts 3:19 When a fresh move of God comes your way, it comes because the mercy of God has been placed in your heart. Repentance brings refreshing. The refreshing brings a sense of relief. In Greek, the word for refreshing means “to be cool or refreshed by a change of temperature.” God changes the temperature of our season when we repent. When refreshing comes, it changes everything. The word for time in Greek is kairos; it means “due measure, due proportion, when used of time, signifies a fixed or definite period, a season, sometimes an opportune or seasonable time.” At the right appointed time, God will send His equipping, preparing anointing to you to help you become the person you were created, designed, and precisely made to be. At the right time or in due seaso

Today’s Word God put a dream in Zerubbabel to rebuild the destroyed temple in Jerusalem, but people were against him and got a decree from the Persian king that forced him to stop. For years it looked like it would never happen, but then he heard the prophecy in today's Scripture. He was saying, "I have this big mountain in front of me, but it's about to become a molehill." How would it happen? Other translations say by shouting "Grace to it." Another word for "grace" is "favor." He was saying, "Yes, this obstacle is big, but I have the favor of God to overcome and finish this project." He didn't talk about his mountain. He

Today's Word | Joel Osteen Ministries : Choose Your Battles Wisely Sep 19, 2022 Today’s Scripture Psalm 141:3, NLT Take control of what I say, O LORD, and guard my lips. Today’s Word In 1 Samuel 17, when David heard the giant Goliath taunting the army of the Israelites, he had come there to deliver food to his brothers. His oldest brother, Eliab, heard him ask some soldiers what the reward would be for the man who killed Goliath, and he tried to embarrass David. He was saying, "You're just a little shepherd boy who's conceited and has a wicked heart." Now, David had killed a lion and a bear, but it says David just walked away. If he had gotten into an argument with Eliab, trying to prove he was a champion, he may have never faced Goliath and gained immediate prominence. You have to learn to walk away from petty arguments, from disrespect, from jealous people, from battles that don't matter. If the thing that comes against you is not between you and your desti

If you are spending any time at all with other people, you’re going to have a lot of opportunities to practice forgiveness. When you make a choice to forgive others, it really benefits you. I often say that holding a grudge and staying bitter at someone is like drinking poison and hoping  they  will die. You’re only hurting yourself! I encourage you to be quick to forgive—leave it and let it go. Don’t allow the poison of unforgiveness to ruin your life. Forgiving Someone Who Hurt You Joyce shares about the biblical and godly way to move past your pain and hurts.

Today's Word | Joel Osteen  Turn It Around Sep 15, 2022 Today’s Scripture Job 19:25, NLT But as for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and he will stand upon the earth at last. Today’s Word Job went through a great trial of his faith. Although he'd done nothing wrong, he lost his children, his business, and his health in a short period of time. At first, he got discouraged and started to get bitter, but Job turned it around. When it seemed as though he had lost all hope, he looked up to the heavens and said, "But I know my Redeemer lives." He was saying, "I know God is still on the throne and will vindicate me." Job made the decision to put on a fresh new attitude, and when he passed the test, he eventually came out with twice what he had before. In difficult times, it's tempting to get sour. You have to draw a line in the sand and say, "I am not going to let hurts and disappointments poison me with a bad attitude and keep me from becoming who I was

Watch Sid Reacts to His 1972 Kathryn Kuhlman  September 16: Do Not Be Deceived “ But he said, “Your brother came with deceit and has taken away your blessing." Genesis 27:35 Genesis 27 tells the story of how Jacob stole the blessing from his brother, Esau. Jacob was deceitful and stole the birthright of blessing that rightfully belonged to his elder brother. How many times has a lie or deceit stolen your blessings? Galatians 6:7 states, “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” God wants to bless His people. He wants to bless YOU. He wants to make you prosperous. He wants to make you influential. He wants to use you to change the world. Yes, you! Nevertheless, the enemy wants you to believe that you have no purpose. The enemy wants you to think that you will always be stuck in whatever situation you are facing. The enemy wants you to believe that “faith” doesn’t work. The enemy wants you to think that God cares about someone else MOR
