Day 331: There Is a God and He Is Great (Psalm 135:1–12, 2 Peter 1:1–21, Daniel 2:24–3:12)

Day 331: There Is a God and He Is Great (Psalm 135:1–12, 2 Peter 1:1–21, Daniel 2:24–3:12) : Day 331: There Is a God and He Is Great (Psalm 135:1–12, 2 Peter 1:1–21, Daniel 2:24–3:12) -  Psalm 135:1–12 Psalm 135    1  Praise the Lord.   Praise the name of the Lord;    praise him, you servants of the Lord,    2  you who minister in the house of the Lord,    in the courts of the house of our God.    3  Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good;    sing praise to his name, for that is pleasant.    4  For the Lord has chosen Jacob to be his own,    Israel to be his treasured possession.    5  I know that the Lord is great,    that our Lord is greater than all gods.    6  The Lord does whatever pleases him,    in the heavens and on the earth,    in the seas and all their depths.    7  He makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth;    he sends lightning with the rain    and brings out the wind from his storehouses.    8  He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,    the firstborn of people and an

Holy Land Moments | International Fellowship of Christians and Jews

Holy Land Moments | International Fellowship of Christians and  When Havoc Comes Nov 25, 2022 Today’s Scripture Acts 8:3, ESV But Saul was ravaging the church, and entering house after house, he dragged off men and women and committed them to prison. Today’s Word At the end of Acts 7, Stephen was stoned to death by members of the Jewish Sanhedrin for his faith in Christ, and Saul was there giving his approval. Saul then began to wreak havoc on the church in Jerusalem, "the city of peace," scattering the apostles and many disciples throughout Judea and Samaria. One of those disciples named Philip went to the city of Samaria and began proclaiming Jesus as the Messiah, and he saw all kinds of miracles and great crowds coming to faith. Sometimes God will allow your place of peace, perhaps your home or workplace, where you feel secure and comfortable, to be disrupted. A Saul of some sort shows up-a sickness, a betrayal, a downsizing, intense pressure-and wreaks havoc on your peace

Philippians 4:6 Anxiety weighs us down with the worries and concerns of this world. What can cause us to feel this way? Bills. Wayward children. An undependable car. Careers etc. The word for “anxiety” in Greek means “to have an unhealthy heaviness or fretfulness.” The Apostle Paul was cautiously confronting the Philippi Christians to trust the Father fully. God was listening to their prayers and petitions. The cure for anxiety is prayer. It’s not just any prayer, but a petition coupled with thanksgiving. The Greek word for “thanksgiving” is “eucharistias;” it’s where we get the word Eucharist. It is associated in many traditional churches with Holy Communion. It c

Day 325: How to Pray with Power (Psalm 130:1–8, James 5:1–20, Ezekiel 40:1–49)

Day 325: How to Pray with Power (Psalm 130:1–8, James 5:1–20, Ezekiel 40:1–49) : Psalm 130:1–8 Psalm 130 A song of ascents.   1 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;    2 Lord, hear my voice.   Let your ears be attentive    to my cry for mercy.   3 If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,    Lord, who could stand?   4 But with you there is forgiveness,    so that we can, with reverence, serve you.   5 I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,    and in his word I put my hope.   6 I wait for the Lord    more than watchmen wait for the morning,    more than watchmen wait for the morning.   7 Israel, put your hope in the Lord,    for with the Lord is unfailing love    and with him is full redemption.   8 He himself will redeem Israel    from all their sins. Psalm Commentary Pray honestly Have you ever felt like you were in the depths of despair? Have you felt that ‘the bottom has fallen out of [your] life’ (v.1, MSG)? The psalmist says, ‘Out of the depths I cry to you, O Lord; O Lord, he

Day 324: You Can Resist Evil (Proverbs 28:7–17, James 4:1–17, Ezekiel 38:1–39:29)

Day 324: You Can Resist Evil (Proverbs 28:7–17, James 4:1–17, Ezekiel 38:1–39:29) : Proverbs 28:7–17   7 A discerning son heeds instruction,    but a companion of gluttons disgraces his father.   8 Whoever increases wealth by taking interest or profit from the poor    amasses it for another, who will be kind to the poor.   9 If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction,    even their prayers are detestable.   10 Whoever leads the upright along an evil path    will fall into their own trap,    but the blameless will receive a good inheritance.   11 The rich are wise in their own eyes;    one who is poor and discerning sees how deluded they are.   12 When the righteous triumph, there is great elation;    but when the wicked rise to power, people go into hiding.   13 Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,    but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.   14 Blessed is the one who always trembles before God,    but whoever hardens their heart falls into trouble.

Day 321: Five Ts of the Christian Life (Psalm 127:1-5, James 1:1-27, Ezekiel 32:1-33:20) : Day 321: Five Ts of the Christian Life (Psalm 127:1-5, James 1:1-27, Ezekiel 32:1-33:20) -  Psalm 127:1-5 Psalm 127 A song of ascents. Of Solomon.    1  Unless the Lord builds the house,    the builders labour in vain.   Unless the Lord watches over the city,    the guards stand watch in vain.    2  In vain you rise early    and stay up late,   toiling for food to eat—    for he grants sleep to those he loves.    3  Children are a heritage from the Lord,    offspring a reward from him.    4  Like arrows in the hands of a warrior    are children born in one’s youth.    5  Blessed is the man    whose quiver is full of them.   They will not be put to shame    when they contend with their opponents in court. Psalm Commentary 1. Trust The Christian life is not meant to be one of self-dependent toil, but of dependent trust. With trust comes  peace  and  sleep . ‘Unless the Lord builds the house , its

Jesse Duplantis - Sermon: To Remember is Always to Prosper : Jesse Duplantis - Sermon: To Remember is Always to  November 14: Watch Your Words “ You have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth." Proverbs 6:2 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession” (Hebrews 4:14). We need to hold fast to our confession. In other words, we need to have the tenacity to never let go. We hold on or let go through our confession—our words. When God engraves His Word in your heart, there aren’t enough devils in hell to take it out unless you let them. The way they get into our hearts is through our words. You are snared, put in a trap or cage, by the failure to talk like God would have you talk. Keep your mind renewed in what God says in His Word. You will experience good and bad things in this life, but no matter what ...Keep your thoughts on Him. Because your thoughts become your

Day 312: Meet Your Blood Donor (Proverbs 27:5-14, Hebrews 9:1-15, Ezekiel 16:1-63) : Proverbs 27:5-14   5 Better is open rebuke    than hidden love.   6 Wounds from a friend can be trusted,    but an enemy multiplies kisses.   7 One who is full loathes honey from the comb,    but to the hungry even what is bitter tastes sweet.   8 Like a bird that flees its nest    is anyone who flees from home.   9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart,    and the pleasantness of a friend    springs from their heartfelt advice.   10 Do not forsake your friend or a friend of your family,    and do not go to your relative’s house when disaster strikes you—    better a neighbour nearby than a relative far away.   11 Be wise, my son, and bring joy to my heart;    then I can answer anyone who treats me with contempt.   12 The prudent see danger and take refuge,    but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.   13 Take the garment of one who puts up security for a stranger;    hold it in pled

The water created a wall to the right and to the left of them. The Lord saved Israel that day. They were free! It is interesting to note that even after all the plagues that the Lord sent upon Egypt, the Israelites didn’t believe until they crossed the Red Sea. What are you going through right now? What have you been crying out to the Lord for deliverance from? What act of God will it take for you to believe God? Do you believe that God is still mighty enough to save? Do you be
